A ragi experiment

I bought whole ragi a while back and forgotten all about it. Poking my head through the pantry the other day, I spotted these and there they were... Sitting in my pantry begging me to do something with them. A hop on the internet and a few minutes later, at 5 in the evening, decided to make ragi dosa/idli. So, something that I would ideally have made for breakfast ended up being a snack in the evening. But, a good and "healthy" one to hand out to hungry kids coming home from school.

Some recipes online mention to soak the ingredients separately and grind them separately. Lazy that I am... I just put it all together and it did turn out well. So, presenting my brown, crisp ragi paper roast drenched with ghee. :)
(P.S. Rich, only the kids got the ghee :P).

 I used :
Whole Ragi -  1 cup
 Idly Rice - 1 cup
Urad Dhal - 1/2 cup
Fenugreek (Methi) Seeds - 1 tsp
Salt - To taste

This is what I did:
1. Wash and soak rice, urad dhal, ragi and methi seeds together overnight.
2. In the morning, grind them all together in a wet grinder, adding water little by little as needed through the grinding process. Batter was like idly batter.

 3. Add salt and then ferment for 4-5 hours.
4. Once the batter has risen, make dosas and enjoy!

Rema, ithu ok va? :)
