View through my window...
Wednesday was a cold, wet, foggy day. The usual magnificent view through my window was marred by little streams of water trickling down the window. One side of my workstation in office is completely glass with a view that will make anyone envious. The office borders the FDR highway, overlooking the piers in the NY bay with the Brooklyn Bridge on one side. I love looking out, getting lost in time while the world rushes by. Being a busy city, there is action all the time. Cars speeding on the highway, taxis rushing to their destinations, ferries hurrying leaving the waters swirling in a murky froth, the occasional ambulance blazing past and the odd police car flashing all red and blue to catch the not so uncommon 'road speedster'. Even, the tugboat going toot-toot pushing around a huge barge is quick to send the water into a mad whirlpool!!
For the same reason, I enjoy the train journey to office. To watch little kids wave to mommy or daddy, the busy cashier at the station cafe, people running to catch the train and the little bunnies scurrying into their burrows afraid of the noise. The only thing I miss here, is the wind on my face. It is too cold for that! I would freeze in a moment. I always think of those days, when we used to take the night train to my grandmother's place for the summer vacation. My brother and I used to fight for a place near the window to read the signals, watch the long train turn. It was fun. Those are happy memories that I will blog about sometime later! (Can't fit it here! :) )
I even enjoy plane rides. The blue, blue sky, white fluffy clouds floating past, the fine line between the ocean and the sky, the different colors of the land, the highs and lows of the earth and watching the rivers and roads meandering below... It's so beautiful!
Thursaday's forecast was sunny and the view was restored again. So, got back to my work and forgot all about getting frozen in time...

Div, Very well written.......I remember the fights for the window seat in the train... but we had more people to fight.Me,my brother, my sis and MY MOM ;-) I still prefer the window seat when I travel. But the difference is,I dont have to fight... my hubby lets me have the window seat always.
