It's all about bread...

Cinnabon is a famous store here that makes the very best cinnamon buns with a yummier vanilla frosting. It is so tasty and good. Since, baking is a love of mine (probably get it from my mom...), putting aside the taste of the outcome, one fine Saturday, last week, I decided to bake my own bread! I browsed the net, found a recipe for basic white bread, which was simple enough for an amateur like me. The pantry had all the ingredients required and I started off eagerly. The dough was ready in no time at all and left to rise. An hour passed and when I checked the dough, it had doubled in size. I was so excited, that midway, I decided to make cinnamon buns much like the cinnabon ones, not bothering to check for a recipe on the net. Being overconfident, I decided to do my own thing. So, the dough was spread out, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, rolled into a log, cut and left for another hour to rise, then it was into the oven. They looked awesome out of the oven, but the taste is best left unspoken. It was neither bread nor the cinnamon buns. No one even so much as touched them for days. It would have made a good loaf of bread though! Serves me right, for changing my mind midway and making do with what I had! :( But, it made good breakfast for me for a week. It packed and carried well and most important filled my stomach! Disaster of the week, as dad put it! Am planning to try again this week, but this time, I'll follow the instructions.

Moral of the story : Stick to the rules! Don't you ever listen to your mum?
