Woof! Woof!

This morning, as I was on my way to work (Yes! :( I was working on a Sunday...), many dogs were on their morning walk. That put me in a pensive mood... thinking about my two little doggies, Brucy and Jugi boy. Don't ask me why they were named that way! They just answered to those names when we first adopted them into the family and it stuck.
It was those good, old days as we always fondly remember, that my little brother and I started pestering or rather, hounding my dad for a pet. We were all dog lovers and it was a dog we wanted. So, after much, much deliberation, he took us on a surprise visit to a pet store after church one Sunday morning and we picked up Jugi. A few weeks later, Brucy joined us (She was Mum's choice!). Our family was complete - Mum, my father, my little brother, myself and Brucy and Jugi.
Like people, dogs have personalities too! Brucy was a smart dog and extremely impish. Brucy was a "sophisticated" dog, I should say! She won't get herself dirty or bother herself with anything mundane or those she decided did not meet her standards. A self crowned "empress" of the road and all other dogs including Jugi were barked at! Jugi on the other hand was more rustic and laidback, playful but brave. He loved to play hide and seek and catch and chase us all around the house. He was a funny dog too!! For a long time, he did not know that dogs lift their legs to pee.. he he he. Finally, it came to him all of a sudden and he would stand in the middle of the garden with one leg up. Sometimes, he would pee for such a long time that he would put one leg down and lift the other. It was hilarious to watch him make those puddles! Pardon this here but couldn't resist it!! He loved his food and would eat all of his and go for Brucy's too, only to be growled at till her majesty had her fill... She wouldn't dream of sharing it with him... sometimes, not even the leftovers. He was hungry most of the time and irritated mum a lot with his peculiar "Iam hungry" cry!!
We lost both Brucy and Jugi to the Parvovirus. But, they had a full and happy life and made ours one too! I see that the little one too is a dog lover. She goes "Woof!Woof!" when she sees a dog, calling to it in her own sweet sounds... Dad has promised to get the little one a puppy. As for me, I am looking forward to all those wonderful memories we are to make!!
